TEOCALTICHE "CITY CLOSE TO THE TEMPLE"

Teocaltiche is a city and municipality in the central-western state of Jalisco Mexico. Teocaltiche is located in what is called "Los Altos de Jalisco". The grasshopper is what the teocal people have chosen to represent them after a grasshoper trapped in the "The Virgen de Los Dolores" glass case turns into a golden grasshopper .
The city is also known for its history, for example, the "Hospital de los Indios" or as well "la Capilla" is a chapel in the city centre and the oldest standing building of Teocaltiche, built approximately in the year 1546 by the Spanish conquistadors. Teocaltiche is one of the oldest settlements with Hispanic influence from the time of the Spanish conquest. The territory dates back to the 1530's when the territory was conquered by settlers


Teocaltiche  is growing rapidly it is a great place to relax and enjoy the moments. Teocaltiche also has a productive downtown or centro where you can find all sort of businesses places for fun dance and many more depending on what you want.  


I have to been Teocaltiche about 7 times and let me tell you, I get refreshed every time I come back from my trip.  The people are polite humble and kind. Every Sunday afternoon many people the gather at the downtown plaza. The youth would circle the kiosk while the elder relax and enjoy music and the downtown environment. You will enjoy the tranquility of this beautiful and historic city.
